Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time to read all of our entries and make so many teachers feel so loved! I’m starting my 8th year teaching, and while I’ve collected quite a few resources over the years, there is still so much my students need. I work in a large school district in the suburbs of New York City (our town is home to the New Jersey side of the George Washington bridge!) with a many of our students receiving free or reduced lunch due to their low socio-economic status. I have never seen a more dedicated community of educators than in this district. I wish I could give everyone what they need, but I’m happy to start small in my classroom. My goal is to create a classroom that was warm and welcoming for my students in hopes that they feel safe and inspired, and still, I’m afraid I’ll fall short - and not just because we don’t have air conditioning ?
