Photo by @ismailferdous | On a bright afternoon last February, Indian-American Sarika Gangar celebrated her baby shower at her parents’ place in San Jose California. San Jose is one of the most diverse cities in California with a 27% white, 32% Asian and 33% Hispanic population. Sarika's friends reflected this diversity and it was really incredible to discover the coexistence of all these cultures living side by side in San Jose.
Sarika is a financial journalist who recently moved to Brooklyn. Silicon Valley is the epicenter of all the big tech giants and there are a lot of Indians and Indian Americans who work in this industry. Santa Clara county and California itself are home to the highest population of Indian Americans in the country.
