Hello from New York! Being back in the city has been overwhelmingly amazing. The last time I was here was 10 years ago, and obviously a lot has changed so i've just been discovering everything all over again.

Unfortunately the weather is pretty shitty today so I'm stuck at the Grand Central station while waiting out the rain. I guess it could have been worse - I did use the opportunity to check out this beautiful station and most importantly (of course) the cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery @magnoliabakery at the basement of the station.

The 105 year old Grand Central is celebrating two anniversaries this year - 40 years rescued and 20 years renewed. The station was nearly demolished 40 years ago in favor of a 55-story office building, but thankfully it was rescued, repaired and reopened 20 years ago in 1998. Many of the station's original features were preserved (albeit significantly restored) - most notably the constellation ceiling in the main concourse, which is still painted backwards according to the original design.

Bonus: this shot was taken from the most beautiful @apple store I've seen yet!
