Frontman of Black Flag, Henry Rollins is no stranger to fighting for the cause. Not your typical rebel he is alcohol, nicotine and other drugs free, to quote the man himself “You don’t need drugs man, all you need is a great idea to get off.”⠀
There is a deep-rooted hatred for authority that can be checked back to his arrest in 1991 on the charge of murdering his best friend. He was accused of being a drug addict and they insinuated that he and his best friend, Joe Cole, were lovers. Neither of these were true but is was enough for him to take up the fight with more reason.⠀
Rollins has consistently used his music to fight injustice and has campaigned for causes from LGBT rights, through opposition to War, poverty and hunger relief and some very specific causes. One of these, the West Memphis Three, where three teenagers were falsely accuses of murder in the early 90’s ended with their eventual release after 18 years of incarceration. ⠀
Black Flag broke up in 1986 but Rollins has continued to fly that flag with his campaigning and on the music scene he hosts radio shows and includes acting amongst his many creative talents. #blackflag #henryrollins⠀
