‘No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.’ C.S Lewis Anyone struggling with grief, fear, anxiety or loss I wanted to share some of the things I found that worked for me: - acknowledge it. Do not try and bottle up your emotion. Feel it. As scary, hard and hurtful as it is, own it and embrace it. And do not let anyone else tell you when you need to ‘pull yourself together’ or ‘be brave’ or ‘strong.’ Grief knows no time frame and you have to feel your feels. - communicate. I found talking to my friends and family helpful. Speaking about the crippling and debilitating anxiety and pain that I was feeling helped ease it. I felt shame at first but the more I spoke, the less alone I felt and the more the weight lifted. If the idea of speaking to someone is too daunting try writing it down. I kept a journal and expressing myself through there proved incredibly cathartic. - Finally, exercise. Initially exercising felt like the farthest thing from my mind- I wanted rose and nuggets and I didn’t care what I looked like. But it isn’t about an aesthetic- it was about my mental health. Getting up, moving around, just being active in general provided me with a level of balance and clarity that completely eluded me otherwise. I found the more I trained the stronger and more capable of dealing with things I was becoming. Sure I was still devastated- but I was no longer floored by my pain. I hope this helps. THANKYOU for listening. And remember, it’s ok, not to be ok. Dress @warehouseuk Shoes @asos Hair @hairbyhan_xx Makeup @krystaldawn_mua Tan @roseandcaramel
