植本一子さんが、このスタジオを立ち上げたのは2013年のこと。
「写真館の敷居が高いのはよくわかるから、どんな人にも来やすいスタジオになったらいいなって思って」。
仕事をただ受けるのではなく、自分で産み出したいという必然的な理由もあったと、謙遜気味に語る植本さんだが、近年は『かなわない』など自身の生活を克明に描いたエッセイも話題を集め、一層精力的に活動している。
訪れるお客さんはやはりファンの方も多いそう。「最近は他の仕事の都合もあって撮れる人の数は少なくなっちゃったんだけど……撮った写真を喜んでもらえるのはすごく嬉しいです」。
柔らかな自然光の中で微笑む植本さんの笑顔は美しかった。

TENNEN STUDIO / It was in 2013 when Ms. Ichiko Uemoto launched this photo studio.
"I know well that people grow hesitant when they try to knock on the door of photo studios, so I wanted to create a studio where people could easily come.” However, there also was an inevitable reason that she wanted to generate business by herself instead of just waiting for the orders to come, Ms. Uemoto talks humbly. Lately, her essays such as “Kanawanai (I’m no match for…)” became very popular for its essential depictions of her own everyday life, and she is actively working even harder. In fact, many of the visitors to her photo studio are her fans. “Because of my other work, I can only take the pictures of fewer people these days…but it makes me delighted when I see my customers happy.” Her radiant smile in the soft natural light was beautiful.
