Was headed to village to grab a peanut butter crepe. Saw the @bluenotenyc line AROUND the block. Said “hmmmm” walked to the front, realized @chickcorea was about to do a set in 20 mins, *shrug* I was alone, gave em the “kid from mean joe green coke commercial” eyes, they were like “sure!” sit w our friends!: boom! Im crashing @kareemabduljabbar_33’s table. he’s like “order!....eat!” I’m freaked out now. friggin having dinner w the guy second to my dad that inspired me to collect so many audio artifacts (he seemed pleased when I googled my record room), next Chick is calling us to his room to say “hi” & boom friggin #LeeKonitz (who literally changed music as a part of #MilesDavis’ #BirthOfCool project) is just chillin like it ain’t nothin!—-then just when it couldn’t get more surreal drummer #MarcusGilmore @drummerslams gives me dap and seconds later I’m being invited to sit at his grandpa’s table the one and only #ROYHAYNES —-like seriously folks, I had a peanut butter jones & messed around and wound up having the time of my life. Great Day.
