‘A Brush with Nature’ is the most extensive selling exhibition ever staged in Asia dedicated entirely to European Old Master paintings and drawings, representing all the major fields from the Renaissance to the 19th century. Pictured here is a monumental still life by Dutch artist Huybert van Westhoven, depicting a group of objects which would all have suggested considerable wealth and luxury – nautilus shells, citrus fruit, a lobster, and a blue and white Ming Kraak porcelain vase, which would have been imported into the Netherlands from China. This rare painting by the artist is on view at the #HongKong Convention and Exhibition Centre until 2 October. #SothebysOldMasters
