This weeks #RolemodelMonday is Grace, a 19 year old woman who was born without three of her limbs. Many in her community saw her disabilities as a taboo and a curse, calling her a freak and threatening her life. She explains that people in her community, "tried to convince my mother to stop breastfeeding me so that I would starve and die of hunger. They said that nothing like this had ever happened in their clan before and that as soon as I was born even their livestock started dying." Grace's parents kept her safe despite all threats, and fled from their community in Rwanda across the border to Uganda where she was treated like a person with God-given purpose. Grace, who is now thriving and living her life to its full potential, is now seen not as a curse, but as a blessing. She has worked tirelessly to overcome bitterness and maintain a positive attitude. The motto that she spreads is that: disability is not inability. Thank you for being so brave and an inspiration to us all.
