Isn’t it funny how poop is this taboo topic as women and then suddenly you have kids and that’s all you talk about? First with your partner or spouse as you dissect your baby’s poop and text each other photos. Then with your kids because they literally watch you do it and call you in to keep them company when they do it too. I think the word “poop” enters just about every conversation I have with them. Sometimes my 5yo even sings songs about it. I have two daughters and sometimes I wonder— at what age do girls start feeling uncomfortable talking about their own shit? When did I begin to think that this very ordinary bodily function should be kept secret, while all the men in my life are totally cool announcing their poop plans and grabbing some reading material just so everyone knows how big this one is gonna be???
