If you are unfamiliar with the deal that Suge Knight had with Interscope Records I’ll just say this;No one else will ever be able to obtain a deal resembling Mr. Knights. The man walked in owning his masters. The DeathRow masters are priceless. It is a shame to see what has happened to that whole impressive empire but life goes on for those that are still alive and well. If Suge was smart he would’ve made himself approachable because this way he would’ve made alliances with the other tastemakers & they would’ve respected him but instead they were all fearful. The music was great. The artist were incredible individually as well as collectively. They sounded great on those albums & I would’ve loved to see the Behind the scenes footage from all of those classic recording sessions. Diddy gave us all The Bad Boy movie & it was really good to see the goings on but man that DeathRow film would’ve been groundbreaking. For many years this art-form has been plagued by the likes of those that didn’t truly appreciate the process, but they were all infatuated with the fruits of the proceeds. Looking back on the 90’s I can say that the music we had then served as the soundtracks for all of our lives. Even after Biggie was killed, the experience sent the surrounding creatives back to the familiar place to pour out their sorrows in song.
