I don't really know how to put into words what I experienced today. I have waited half my life to visit the the sacred site of the D-Day landings in World War 2, and today I got to set foot on Omaha beach in Normandy. It was so incredibly powerful, particularly knowing so many brave men lost their lives in this location. You could feel it in the air. One of the most decisive and devastating turning points of the war, it really puts into perspective what we value today. The world wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for their sacrifice. May they rest in peace.
