i captured this sunset shortly after finishing the lyrics to Low in an old Silverlake apartment that i had rented out for the summer last year. i remember feeling so much freedom in this moment. that same night, i threw out a bottle of anti-depressants that i had been prescribed a few weeks prior. i wrote Low to heal me through a dark time in my life in which i felt lost, defeated, and in need of love. i chose to try to let the music heal me, and in so many ways it did. this song that was truly a ripped page from my own life, just passed 10 million streams on Spotify today. i’m beyond grateful and never thought that something so personal would resonate so deeply with others. thank you for playing it & understanding its meaning. a big thanks to alex and willy for believing in it too. here’s to another ten milly xx
