Over the years, Misty Copeland (@mistyonpointe) has performed “The Nutcracker” ballet in many different roles: Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, a doll, Marzipan, a flower, a Spanish dancer and a snowflake. “It was the first ballet I performed in,” says the principal dancer. “It was the most enchanting and empowering feeling I had ever experienced.”
Now, in the film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” she performs in a new role as the Ballerina Princess. “I hope that with ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,’ people see the story through fresh eyes, with the film bringing beauty and diversity to the screen.”
