[Interior Design School Day 2]. Immersive day walking around LA mart — a massive high rise in LA serving as LA’s comprehensive source for dynamically branded, designer-licensed, custom manufactured furniture. Our instructor gave us the tour and introduced us to established professionals that gave us invaluable advice about how LA mart works, the importance of building authentic relationships with vendors, the need for transparency through the entire process, and managing client expectations (BE REAL). After several hours of walking around with our instructor, she let us wander on our own. I wandered in and out of stunning showroom after showroom — proudly introducing myself as “Kristin Hildebrand, an up and coming kickass interior designer in the LA area” ??? I made connections, built confidence, and have started to build my network.
Then I drove to a coffee shop and put in three hours of work for a graded PowerPoint presentation that I’m giving to the class this morning.
Day three let’s go!!!!!.
