? Remember 3 years ago when thousands of us were voting for Dr Gary Richter in the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) @avmavets America's Favorite Veterinarian contest because he was the only doctor in the top ten that didn't declaw cats? ?❤️
Remember when a few people who were against declawing let their emotions get the best of them and they wrote things like, "stop declawing" on a few of the contestants fb pages?
Remember when some of the declawing vet contestants called us terrorists? ????
Remember when the AVMF cancelled the contest because Dr Richter was going to win and the AVMF/AVMA used the excuse of massive cyber-bullying attacks to cancel the contest? (Two of the top ten vets stopped declawing after the contest and they said that they weren't bullied or threatened at all.) Well, I thought that I would do a follow-up story about the top ten vets and see if anymore of them have stopped declawing since then.
After all, there have been new studies and information that shows how harmful declawing is to the health and welfare of cats so one would think that most if not all of these veterinarians have stopped doing this inhumane and mutilating procedure.
I will send a letter to each of the AFV top 9 vets to ask them if they have stopped and if so what were their reasons. I'm optimistic that since they are leaders in their noble profession that they have stopped harming cats!
