Starbucks has opened its first US sign language store in Washington, DC, and every single employee at this branch is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The company chose this location because of its proximity to Gallaudet University, the world's only liberal arts university for the deaf and hard of hearing. "It's a highly visual store," says store manager Matthew Gilsbach. "People are signing all over the place."
