I met these young women earlier this year. They told me they petitioned their school to start a fencing program after watching me fence at the Olympic Games. I asked my amazing @NIKE family to send them Pro Hijabs. They are a small program in Minnesota, but their existence as young fencers who are of color and wear hijab matters. I’m so proud. The legacy continues even if it means occupying spaces where we aren’t always welcome ❤️
