I have learnt a lot this year about sport. Not performing the way you may expect or as well as you would like is extremely hard. It’s not a loss of passion, a lack of effort or any sort of training inconsistencies. It’s been a tough time in my career that I’ve really learnt a lot of lessons not just about my swimming but life lessons that include patience and perseverance. There is a heart sinking feeling each time I look at the score board and see a time that may not reflect the effort I had put in. But I have learnt things I wouldn’t have had I always succeeded. My passion and love for swimming is not wavered and I will continue to push myself and I will and have come out a better athlete. I’m looking forward to racing overseas a few more times this year but most of all I’m extremely excited for 2019!
