?We found the purr-fect furry friend to help us celebrate #NationalCatDay. Dutch artist #JanSteen depicted this mischievous little cat getting its paws on the ham as part of a larger scene of domestic chaos. Comic paintings displaying carousing and misbehavior were especially popular among Dutch art collectors in the first half of the 17th century. This artwork is on view now in our #MetDutchMasterpieces exhibition.
