6 year anniversary of #HurricaneSandy and I dug up these pictures including this one of the destruction around our area. Power out for 8 days with a 6 week old baby in my arms and 2 tiny boys itching to get out of the house or do something but the conditions were too unsafe. We had to “trunk or treat” that year as cars lined up on one road with candy in the trunks for the little ones since it was too unsafe to walk from door to door with power lines everywhere. My husband and neighbor worked for hours to get our cars out so we could get some gas for our generator and food for the family. It could’ve been a lot worse but it certainly wasn’t easy and we got the best of it. Thinking of all those who have suffered from all the recent hurricanes and those still rebuilding and grieving the loss of loved ones from all natural disasters!
