Rothenburg is my fathers family name. It belonged to his German/Jewish mother. Today I see “Rottenberg” handwritten on the wall of the Pinkas Synagogue along with 77,297 other Czeck Jewish people who perished in the war. Their names are remembered here. And I say out loud as I write:
