Cloudy Eye and her relatives in the Marsh Pride grooming their cubs. Cloudy Eye (on the left) was easily recognizable due to her cloudy eye. We don't know what caused the injury but think she must be blind in that eye. We love the fact that each big cat is a unique individual - each with its own complex character. It takes years of observation to unlock the secret lives of the big cats. That is the fascination for Angie and myself. Lionesses in a pride are always related - sisters, half-sisters, cousins, aunts, mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers. It is the females that own the territory and they will fight with other females to maintain their grip on their birthplace. We were fortunate that when we began filming the pride to have a group of five adult females, all of whom had cubs at some point during filming. ?: @thebigcatpeople @abrahamjoffe
