My husband is directing a film that he wrote close to eight years ago. They start filming today. Eight years of twists and turns, of three steps forward and two steps back.
He has been swimming upstream, chipping away at the stone, for nearly a decade.
Nothing will be handed to you. And if it is, at some point, it will be ripped away and you will be left, hanging from a cliff, with no rope and only the utter belief in yourself propelling you forward.
People will say no. They always say no but all you need is for the right person to say yes.
So here you are, my darling. Standing on the firing line. For the first time, standing firm, holding your ground, unwavering. Believing that you have the answer. This is your hero’s journey. And just like those kids, in your screenplay, who have been waiting a lifetime to tell their story ,so too have you.
Go get ‘em baby. Everything you have ever needed you possess already inside of you and it keeps me up at night, in feverish glee, that finally everyone else will see the magic that has been my honor to witness. @seanmcewen
