Over the past few months, we’ve been lucky to spend a lot of time at @aucklandartgallery Toi o Tāmaki getting up-close with their impressive Frances Hodgkins collection. We’re pleased to share that in celebration of the Gallery’s forthcoming major exhibition, ‘Frances Hodgkins: Her European Journeys’, Karen has designed a collection of accessories inspired by the artist’s modernist works. Frances Hodgkins was one of the early 20th-century’s trailblazers. Her radical work and nomadic lifestyle was ground-breaking for New Zealand women at that time and her adventurous spirit has long been an inspiration to Karen. ‘Frances Hodgkins: Framed by Karen Walker’ will be available May 2019 when the Gallery’s exhibition opens.
