EEEEEEKKKKKKK wowowowoww! I’m so grateful to anyone who’s taken the time to watch this video? it’s the first time I was able to completely immerse myself in a creative process I was damn proud of. When I was playing with how I wanted to bring this song to life the only thing I kept feeling was that the song made me feel both empowered and vulnerable at the same time. I was being honest and raw, but I wasn’t allowing myself to give away my power. With that in mind I drew towards the concept of duality. There are constant opposing worlds in my psyche. I am never the same, ever-changing, and this video was an exploration of the youthful naïveté that I swam in for so long being sacrificed for a moment by the woman in me who is ready to roar and assert her power and ability. This video could never have been what it became though without the help of some beautifully creative humans. My creative yang @deenabydeena and my magical sprite of a visual director @laurenelizadunn and I spoke about this over the phone and helped me get to the place of full understanding of how this exploration of extremes was to played out. It was to be black and white. It was to be sensual, an awakening of self and a death of innocence. An entrance into the world of the wolves ready to overcome anything in her path. Especially, herself. I went through each frame of footage after it was done to make sure the entire visual from beginning to end evoked the exact amount of unexpected turbulence I feel inside myself a lot. These four million views mean that four million people heard my first story and saw it (in their own way) how I envisioned. If you watch it to the very end you will also get a stream of credits that sends love to each and every soul that was on set or behind the scenes making this vision come to life.
