I’m a pure product of Europe and the endless possibilities and opportunities of a range of different cultures and ways of life , all reunited and working together. I grew up in Germany , was educated in London @bafcsm , had my first job for a Belgian Designer based in Paris @Maison Margiela then started my own company in Paris working with factories in Italy , then started consulting for companies in Italy. On the way I became fluent in English, then French , then Italian ( more of less hehe)... and who knows where else I might be working tomorrow?
All of these experiences made me into a completely different person to the one I was - opening up my horizons and giving me a feeling that anything was possible.
When I met Angela Merkel in July in Berlin she asked me about being a Fashion Designer, but what I really wanted to say to her was how proud I was of the work she’s done trying to keep Europe together, and her humanity in dealing with people searching to escape death and destruction.
Say what you want about her, but the one thing that nobody can deny is that she has always believed in Europe and European Unity, and I’m sad and worried to see her go.
