“Lying 1500 meters above sea level in the Kenyan Rift Valley is a lake that is covered in a pink cloud of flamingos. Geysers bubble with the most spectacular hot water volcanic springs. The Lake Bogoria National Reserve is dominated by a thorny bushland of acacia trees. Huge flocks of flamingos who visit the still waters of the lake, feed on the algae. Since the lake has no outlet, it is saline and grows a lot of blue and green algae. You can see how the different shades of algae have colored the water of the the lake -- apart from the pink coloring the flamingos have added.
