Christmas, last year. Afghanistan. I got to try on this soldier’s gear. It weighed about 70lbs, she was smaller than me and she carried it everyday. I had it on for 15 seconds and this was my face. And that’s just a fraction of what our brave men, women and allies go through on a day to day basis. I’ve been privileged to entertain our troops with the @theuso , I have friends who have served (shout out to comic @jesswellington2 and my buddy @florent.groberg ) and I am always honored when servicemen and women are in my audience. AND NOW, THE FACTS ☝️☝️☝️☝️
❤️Our troops need your support. ❤️Moreover, once active duty become vets, they need us more than ever. Whether it’s a greater conversation about mental health, financial services, employment etc, we need to show those who served that we support them, not just with #s but with actions. I donated to @teamrubicon but there are so many military charities out there that would love anything you could give. These people gave up everything and were willing to sacrifice everything for you, it’s our duty to show them support.
I hope this #veteransday was a proud one for all of the vets out there.
