Wearing my @friendsofmilo “Save a Senior” t-shirt today as a reminder that November is “adopt a senior dog” month. How did I celebrate? By adopting sweet senior Peaches! Scroll for pics! She is the sweetest 9 year old baby I’ve met!! Right now in southern California, we are in especially desperate need of foster homes and adopters. Here’s the thing: people always say to me “how can you adopt a senior? It’s less time until they die. I don’t want to get attached only to lose them. I want a full life together. Etc etc blahblahblah.” And to that I say this: if you are only adopting an animal to bring yourself happiness, I would highly recommend you try to think about what you can bring to an animal’s life. How selfish to feel that an older animal won’t “give you enough”. Maybe if you think about how much WE can give THEM you will get to enjoy these amazing animals as much as I do. #adoptdontshop #rescueisthebestbreed #rescuechihuahua
