A little Bluesday inspiration from #BKMAsianart: Incised on the body of this vase is a medallion bearing an Arabic inscription with three Names of God: Insha’allah (Will of God); Ghudrat-allah (Power of God); and Ni’mat-allah (Grace of God). Incised on the base of the vase, in Chinese, is the reign mark of the emperor: Qianlong nianzhi (Made during the Qianlong period). It is thought that this vase was made in the imperial workshops in the Forbidden City in Beijing for use by Muslims living at Emperor Qianlong’s court. By the time of Qianlong’s reign, there was a large Muslim community in Beijing. #infinitebluebkm ?⠀⠀
