Following his service in WWII, John Chamberlain returned to #NewYork in the late 1950s and began creating his radical Abstract-Expressionist sculptures from parts of automobiles – including fenders, bumpers and hoods. ‘Kidd Eau’, a work that reveals Chamberlain’s mastery of the manipulation of objects and colors, is now on view in our #NYC galleries ahead of our Contemporary Art Day Auction this Thursday. #SothebysContemporary #JohnChamberlain
