The @dancingABC finals are tmr, so I took a trip down memory lane and relived the moments after the birth of my son. This journey was outright ludicrous, and many told me I was a fool for trying, but I felt compelled to push myself to the limit, to get back to my first love, dance. Video 1 is 14 days postpartum. I was so weak, with no abdominal strength. My body was incredibly fragile, and my mind was busy with body image thoughts, worries, and concerns. I got the courage to go to the gym, with the help of the best team mate I could ask for, my husband @maksimC ...He, as you can see/hear, created an environment where only he and I existed for that hour and made it safe for me to enter the gym. He pushed me to where I didn’t care about my size, and only saw someone who was healing...someone who had just created (pushed out) a miracle. After 14 days my belly was still floppy and these floor exercises were so tough for me that at times I wanted to quit. You can see I’m pulling my shirt down because I didn’t want anyone staring at my stomach. Video 2 our basement in NJ, Maks called in @sergeonik This was so embarrassing for me, you can see Maks trying to make me smile at the beginning. My boobs were DDD and I could hardly breathe, my uterus also felt like it was falling out every time @maksimC spun me (no joke), I reached down to make sure everything was still in tact ?...I didn’t recognize my body, and that was the hardest part. @SergeOnik and @missalyssq ultimately gave me their time, I can’t thank them enough for being a massive part of my healing process. Photo 1 with @nickviall ..I was in struggle town. A pap took this through the window, which was the last thing I wanted. I was so unfit and trying to keep energized to teach my new celebrity and give him my all. He was such a champ though and supported me through it all, leaving the room with producers every 2 hours so I could empty my boobs ? Last pics with @nickLachey (miss you btw ?) after 6 months were astounding to me. I never thought I would have abs again. You really can do anything when you focus and believe in yourself, trust what your gut tells you and not listen to the noise around you. ❤
