Lonely leaf casting shadows on frozen sand. I returned to Maine as winter set in and confirmed that it is still beautiful even in its cold and more dreary days. The visit to the frozen beach under the particular circumstances was full of metaphors that I’ll spare you here. But, as always, nature reminded me that there is beauty to be found in the changing of the seasons. •
