Where to begin...Today I had the pleasure, the life changing experience of meeting a very special family. This little 12 year old girl is named Inas. This 12 year old girl fled Syria in 2016 and was forced into child labor. By the grace of god- they found @careorg that was able to give them assistance- connect them to a school - where she was able to enroll full time. She says @careorg saved their lives. That sounds like a sound bite- the fact is it’s not- and @careorg didn’t save their lives- @careorg gave them the bridge they needed to save themselves. Having two brothers killed from bombs, smuggled into another country, and thank god to be welcomed with open arms into Jordan, Inas still had enough will to ask for a chance. This little girl has a 97.5 average and wants to become a doctor. Inas’s favorite subject being math, she is well on her way. A wall wouldn’t have given her this path. Tear Gas wouldn’t have given her this path. Hatred wouldn’t have given her this path. This isn’t only changing her life, this is changing her family’s life. 80% of the 650,000 Syrians in Jordan DONT live in camps- which means they are living on their own- paying rent- trying to get by- they never wanted a handout - they wanted a hand up as the saying rings true. These precious souls have been through hell. I was able to look Inas, her mother, her two other living brothers, her grandmothers, & her aunt in the eyes and not only did they let me into their home but the way they look at you - breaks u- they open the flood gates into their hearts. Because they are not defined by their citizenship, their political party, their bank accounts, their extra-circular activités, they are defined by their gratitude and tenacity- they simply want a human connection to one another and any stranger like me who crosses their path- that’s how they define happiness. I will cherish the day I got to put a face to statistics and feel these peoples’ hospitality and heart wrenching resilience. If you are interested in learning more please click on my link in my bio. Thank you @careorg for this life changing opportunity. Thank you Inas for showing me what humans can be made of❤
