Did you know—in 1896 #HilmaAfKlint began to hold regular séances with four other women, who collectively called themselves The Five. Like other spiritualists of the era, the group understood their endeavor as a way of obtaining direct access to a higher order of knowledge. Together they would communicate with spirits as mediums, and the guides they encountered sent them messages which eventually took the shape of art.
