This young boy lives at a UNICEF-supported camp for families displaced by fighting in Bambari, Central African Republic. He’s wearing charms filled with herbs and bones for protection. The Central African Republic is rich in resources, yet conflict has made it one of the world’s poorest countries. With armed groups controlling around four-fifths of the country, children need more than magic. They need a safe place to live and go to school.
