I love my friends Tish & Keith Blackwell here’s a bit if there story! #s We met 29 years ago, I reluctantly gave him my number, but it didnt really matter because he didn't call until five years later, he went to jail shortly after we met. By the time he called I was completely vested in my new love for God and I didn't want any distractions. My method of eliminating extras was to extend an invitation to our Wednesday night bible study, after all what 23yr old man wants his first date to be bible study. To my surprise he excepted, not only my invitation but he excepted Christ that night as well. Keith had been a gang member since age 11. He carried a gun everywhere he went, but that night he vowed he would exchange his gun for a bible and he did. Keith literally carried a hotel bible(hardback) everywhere he went. When rival gangs would throw up their gang signs, Keith would throw up his hotel bible and keep it moving. People laughed at him, made fun of him and even called him crazy, but he kept smiling and stayed on course. Although his heart had changed, everything else was a process. The gang life was all he knew so he still had the swag, the talk ect. It was more than T-Shirts and khaki's it was engraved in his entire demeanor so getting a job proved to be difficult. Even in a suit he was judged and denied. In the early years the only place he could find work was in fast food, so Keith didn't just get one job, he got three fast food jobs. He worked from 5am-12am, he was always smiling, wanting more but never gave up. Keith developed a passion for food, and serving others. Any opportunity he got to cook he did, and even now all Keith wants to do is cook. Statistics would have you believe a person whose raised in the ghetto, with parents who struggled with addiction, a person with little education and a criminal record will only have one of two outcomes. Locked up for life or dead, but statistics doesn't consider the God factor. Despite statistics Keith has never stop loving, giving or living for the benefit of others. Keith was willing to humble himself then, so getting a today job isn't a problem anymore. I've watched him overcome

We met 29 years ago, I reluctantly gave him my number, but it didnt
really matter because he didn't call until five years later, he went to jail
shortly after we met. By the time he called I was completely vested in my new
love for God and I didn't want any distractions. My method of eliminating
extras was to extend an invitation to our Wednesday night bible study,
after all what 23yr old man wants his first date to be bible study. To my
surprise he excepted, not only my invitation but he excepted Christ that
night as well. Keith had been a gang member since age 11. He carried a gun
everywhere he went, but that night he vowed he would exchange his gun for
a bible and he did. Keith literally carried a hotel bible(hardback)
everywhere he went. When rival gangs would throw up their gang signs,
Keith would throw up his hotel bible and keep it moving. People laughed at
him, made fun of him and even called him crazy, but he kept smiling and
stayed on course. Although his heart had changed, everything else was a
process. The gang life was all he knew so he still had the swag, the talk
ect. It was more than T-Shirts and khaki's it was engraved in his entire
demeanor so getting a job proved to be difficult. Even in a suit he was
judged and denied. In the early years the only place he could find work
