Resting bitch face but happy. ? Can we talk about ageing as a woman? (Sorry boys, but I can't talk on your behalf!). I feel like there's so much more pressure on us when it comes to ageing and in my early 20's I felt invincible as I joked about getting saggy boobs and cougars like it was funny and so far away. I also used to be so cynical about women who would choose not to "grow old gracefully". And then I turned 30. I don't know if my age made me worry because I started to notice the ageing process, or because of society's expectations about what we should have achieved by this age; but whatever reason I really started to feel insecure. Self-love is definitely an ongoing journey and loving myself throughout the ageing process is hard when noticing my leather-like shoulders from not wearing sunscreen when learning to surf in La Reunion (where I lived when I was 20), my sun damage freckles on my chest from deciding to experiment with sub-30 sun cream during my solo travels in Mexico. And the pores on my skin and bags under my eyes getting larger on my face. I'll be honest, I have started to consider defying the ageing process, be it boob-lifts, Botox or whatever else. I don't feel like I'm old enough to get old! But what if we could learn to love the external changes in our bodies because of the memories they carry? I love my shoulders because they remind me of learning to surf in Reunion, my chest freckles for the memories of solo travelling and essentially learning to love and respect myself in Mexico etc. Just some thoughts I've been having whilst in Thailand torturing myself about whether I should be in the sun. I'd love to know all your thoughts around this. And to anyone younger, be kind about women older than you, firstly because one day it'll be you quicker than you think, and secondly because I've learnt we can learn so much from.the women above uus. Finally, I've realised that you age externally way quicker than you do on the inside. ❤️? #noretouching PS: and in the words of Baz Lurhmann: wear sunscreen

Can we talk about ageing as a woman? (Sorry boys, but I can't talk on your behalf!).
