My relationship with my body has really had to grow and adjust these last few months. For so long it was a tool for my sport and now I’m having to adjust my expectations of what is “fit” and “beautiful”. I’m learning to appreciate the hard work my body is capable of, but also accept that I will not always look the exact way I did at the Olympics. In such an aesthetic based sport, it is so easy to fall into one small idea of what is an acceptable body type. As I watch my muscle tone fade away, as I see that I’m not as lean as I used to be, I’m learning that I can still be functional and fit, just in a different way. There isn’t one single look that is beautiful. I’m embracing this new me, because I’m different but I’m just as beautiful as I was before. So love yourselves guys, it feels great ❤️
