My mommy often asked me when I did something that didn’t make sense, “did you think?” or my Dad would say, “you’re thinking backwards!” ?Very often I’ve had to tread lightly because some thought that my questions were in the form of attacking when it was simply me thinking and reasoning on the way to my answer or solution. I’ve had to make some adjustments in my approach but after my adjustments some were still offended. Don’t dummy down yourself as a thinker. Critical thinking shows signs of self monitoring, self discipline, and a rigorous standard of excellence and mindful command. It’s necessary for life skills, faith, parenting, business, marriage, dating, financial stability, consideration of others, and more. It’s also a characteristic of God because He challenges us in conversation with HIM! So, keep thinking. Get around critical thinking to change the dynamic of your conversation.
