For nearly 70 years, Genevieve Purinton believed the baby she’d given birth to in Indiana had died in the hospital. But on Monday, she met that baby girl, now a 69-year-old woman named Connie Moultroup. “Because she was an unwed mother, she was told that I had died,” Moultroup said. “She continued with her life not knowing I was still alive.” Moultroup, who was adopted and raised in California, decided last year to use a DNA ancestry test to look for her birth mother.
