I was given to my human, Melanie when she was experiencing a large increase in breakthrough seizures. Melanie lost her independence and struggled with depression. Once I came into Melanie’s life, a brighter adventure began to unfold. My spunky, sweet personality brightened my human’s worst days and gave her something to focus her energy on.

My human must stay in bed when there are signs of possible seizures. I was always ready and willing to snuggle and stay in bed all day. It was comforting to Melanie to have my love and companionship. Melanie couldn’t do a lot independently but she could take care of me and document my personality and our fun together.

Early on, I began to recognize precursor signs of my human’s seizures. At the age of 2, I started to warn Melanie before a seizure. I lay on top of Melanie’s legs to keep her safe. When Melanie attempts to get up, I will stay still to prevent her from moving to an unsafe space. Although pigs can not be official service animals, I serve a very large purpose in my human’s life. Melanie’s seizures are now less frequent. I have given Melanie her independence back and encourages her to move forward.

My human and I are touched that others find joy in my daily adventures. We are inspired to share our story and spread the joy that I brings to a larger audience.
