Don’t sit down... The real secret to success is as simple as that. You can’t get anything done sitting on your ass. There is an evil anti-work entity in this world and it’s name is “The Couch”. I don’t think Jay Wellingdon has any idea how many dreams he would be ruining in 1895 when he invented the couch. I don’t care what color or what material it is. All couches possess this demonic gravitational pull. If your ass is anywhere within 3 feet, you’re screwed. Those plans for getting your 32’ frame pinched after work are officially over. You cannot escape its clutches. Back in the mid 90’s when I was working at Hot Rods by Boyd. I was making fenders for Custom Chrome and Nempco in my Garage at night. On any given day after work if I went in the house before I went in the garage. Forget it! I was caught in the couch’s vortex and not getting fenders done that day. I learned very quick if I wanted to get work done? Go straight to my garage and get after it. So the moral of this story is. Don’t sit down!! If your shop has a couch? Burn it now in the street as a stern warning to the anti work demons. Show them you’re not falling into the trap.
