We are humbled to share that Stephen Piscotty is the recipient of the 2018 Tony Conigliaro Award, which honors a “Major Leaguer who has overcome adversity through the attributes of spirit, determination, and courage that were trademarks of Tony C.” Stephen joined his hometown A’s last offseason, allowing him to be closer to his mother, Gretchen, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2017. She passed this May, surrounded by Stephen and the Piscotty family. Upon his return to the team, Stephen hit a home run in his first at-bat, sparking a four-plus-month run that culminated in the best season of his career.
