'The Abdul Aziz Khan Medressa is one of the lesser-visited of Bukhara’s many medressas and mosques, but it has some of the most amazing ghanch – these ornamental plasterwork ‘stalactites’ that create mini-alcoves within the larger dome. These are intricately carved and painted or tiled in sublime colours to great effect.
