A large retrospective of Magnum photographer Ferdinando Scianna's work has started its tour in the Complex of San Domenico in Forlì, Italy, where it is showing until January 6, 2019.

Scianna first began taking photographs in the 1960s while studying literature, philosophy and art history at the University of Palermo. It was then that he began to photograph Sicilian cultures and traditions, systematically. Over the past 50 years, however, the photographer has dealt with different themes: current events, war, travel, religion, but all linked by the constant search for a form in the chaos of life.

The retrospective traces Scianna's entire career through a narrative path divided into different chapters, ranging from his body-of-work exploring religious festivals to his photographs of America, and his fashion portraiture.
