Greeted by the Sunrise from the door of Tongkonan // It was my first time to visit Toraja, a mythical land in the south of Celebes island (Sulawesi selatan). Probably you would say this kind of view is quite the same like other place. But the fact is, what makes Toraja different are the atmosphere and the culture that they keep from more than hundred years. They cherish the dead. They bury the dead with celebration that takes more than a week. Everyone is invited. I will post more about the rituals of Rambu Solo, the art of letting go the spirits of the dead. .
