I think the reason I finally introduced you all to Pike today was that over the course of the last couple of days I realize just how much Fawkes had grown. At first adjusting to her affection was awkward for him. But over the last month he's blossomed into such a "Dad of the year". We never imagined him as such. He was always a loving cat but it was always on "his terms". He would protest any cuddle he didn't initiate. We started the search for Pike after he started acting depressed in November. It took a few weeks and 7 shelters. We just didn't find anyone who 'clicked'. We met Pike at a Vet Clinic in Covington. She is a Feral Rescue from Eastern Washington. She was scared but it didn't stop her curiosity. She climbed up unto my shoulders and looked around for our whole visit. Inquisitive, calm. I thought she might get along with my calm boy. In the last month we've learned she has 2 modes. Calm, cuddly, loving... And Philip J Fry after 99 cups of coffee. And Fawkes plays Dad for both. He's even scolded her with chirps when she starts getting destructively fast. So it finally clicked, she's one of us now.
