After becoming the first person to complete a solo, unsupported, unaided crossing of Antarctica (12/26/18), Colin O’Brady awaits pickup back to Union Glacier and then onto complete several health checks before making his return to the United States.

O’Brady is a member of the legendary Explorer’s Club. Only the most renowned explorer’s gain entrance to the club – past members include former US President Theodore Roosevelt and astronaut Neil Armstrong. For major expeditions, members may apply to carry an Explorer’s Club Flag. There are only 222 flags in existence, which have been carried to all of the Earth’s continents, the moon and the deepest depths of the ocean. O’Brady carries Flag 109 which was first carried in 1941 and is now part of Antarctic history.
